How to try Bakasana / Crow Pose with blocks for Beginners

This video shows how to try Bakasana / Crow with blocks for support - you can use a pillow for your head too!!

The blocks help with weight distribution so you can start to explore what the posture feels like when you are balancing on your arms. Our heads and our pelvis are the heaviest parts of our bodies so we have to counter balance then to be able to ‘fly’ - notice how I bring my hips slightly higher than my head in this video.

Also - try squeezing your inner knees to the back outside edge of your upper arms (anywhere over the elbow). If you just rest your knee caps against your arm bones you may find that it’s painful and you end up with bruises on the back of your arms (triceps). Muscle engagement is essential to take away this issue!!

Watch my tutorial on the splits / half splits if you are new to the practice - there’s some helpful things to note and bring into your own practice!
